Identification Tips:

* Length: 7 inches
* Sharply-pointed bill

Male:

* Black head, breast, back, wings and tail
* Yellow belly, rump and shoulder patch
* White wing bar
* Immature male similar to female

Female:

* Greenish upperparts
* Dark streaks on back
* Yellowish underparts
* Two wing bars

Similar species:

The similar Audubon's Oriole lacks the black back of the male Scott's Oriole. Females are similar to females of other orioles but have dark streaking on the back and lack any orange coloration on the plumage.
